I used to worry about hotel security for the entire trip. Not actively worry, exactly. It was more like a low-level background noise. Was my stuff safe? Could someone get in? Did I lock everything?
I would lock the door, put the chain on, push furniture in front of it, check the bathroom for peepholes, keep my laptop with me, and use my backpack as a pillow while I slept. I was traveling, but I was not relaxed.
Then I started doing the scan before anything else.
The first time I scanned a room and got a clear result, with no cameras, no trackers, legitimate Wi-Fi, and a secure lock, something shifted. I genuinely relaxed. I unpacked. I left my laptop on the desk instead of carrying it everywhere. I went out and explored without the anxiety hanging over me.
The peace of mind from 30 seconds of scanning was worth more than hours of security theater.
After two weeks, I stopped thinking about it. I would enter a room, scan, wait for the results, and then unpack. It became as automatic as brushing my teeth or locking my car.
Unlike brushing your teeth, which prevents cavities, or locking your car, which prevents theft, this scan looks for specific, documented, actually happening security threats.
I am not being paranoid. I am being practical. That practicality feels like freedom.
The YourSweep subscription costs less per month than a coffee. The time investment is 30 seconds. What I gained was actual peace of mind instead of managed anxiety. That trade is excellent.
